Art 101

this little pistol above has been quite a handful this week.
it just so happened that we had dentist appointment this week also.

dentist + challenging behavior = a dreadful drive to the dentist

little did we know we'd be greeted with homemade red velvet cupcakes
and a fresh bouquet of flowers.
we certainly left the dentist in better moods than we arrived.
who said bribery doesn't work?

like i said, this kid has given us a week full of challenges surprises,
but this had to be my favorite.
i walked into his room as he was performing, "tooty tot" in the flesh.
awe.some.

 in case you hadn't heard,
it snowed here in the desert.
it was a big deal.

i spent that snowy evening with a long time friend.
pam was a leader in my church youth group when i was a teenager.
life has obviously come full circle
we met and talked teenagers-hers and mine.
well, mine are not yet teenagers but i still
appreciate her "leading" me and
sharing wisdom and preparing me.

i've had these paint swatches in my junk drawer forever.
during my 40 bags in 40 days quest,
i rediscovered them.
so, i crafted.
this is nothing special, I'm a master for art projects that scream, "SIMPLE."

school projects stink.
both the big kiddos are diligently working on their experiments.

however, i considered it a mini victory while in the midst of helping one of them
(who shall remain nameless),
i heard this....

"forget it, i don't want your help. i'll do it all myself!"

{victory dance}

tell me i'm not the only one who would be excited by this statement?

that's me on the left.
i was brave.
but i think i want to be bold,
like avril on the right.

we are behind in the entertainment culture,
especially when it comes to TV.
but i am loving Downton Abbey,
it's like a good book i can't put down.
every opportunity i've had to sneak away with my ipad
and catch another episode,
i've taken advantage of.

sorry honey, i'm now 4 episodes ahead of you.

this is happening right now.
i'm off to join my kiddos.
like i said, art projects that say, "SIMPLE," call my name.

I had a red velvet cupcake last week as well! It was so good. I love your pink hair. I would totally do it too. I think it looks great!
