We love the beach.
We love our friends.
We especially love having our friends at the beach.
Considering our friends and some family were already planning a trip, it was an easy decision for us to go.
We squeezed in as much fun as possible in three quick days.
Here's the thing, "beach time" means "slow time," so three days was just enough for us to feel relaxed, refreshing and rejuvenated...which was a good thing because upon returning we were heading to the Midwest for vacation.
My favorite way to watch fireworks is over the water. Seeing their reflection doubles the beauty but oddly enough it reminds me of Christmas lights reflecting in the snow. Strange, I know. Some of my favorite 4th celebrations have taken place near the water. This years shows started late, so late we thought maybe they'd been cancelled. Lo and behold they appeared at 10:18 PM and carried out for 30 minutes of "ewes and ahhs."
The kids made so many amazing memories this year, a lot of inside jokes now that we have teenagers in the mix and still endless building of sand castles.
I guess it's fair to say that we parents made lots of memories, too. Ok, and a couple inside jokes were created. These carefree friends of mine got me into the typically chilly water. They got me body surfing and laughing loud enough for the "entire beach to hear." (quote by my daughter)
Us- some of the parents.
Them-some of our mini-me's.
Our coffee cups...just like the other 1,000 people on the beach NOT consuming alcohol.
The dads.
Thank the Lord for dad's at the beach. Dad's build bigger sand castles, head deeper into the ocean and are great life guards. And man, that hat of my hubby's has proven to not only be embarrassing but rather helpful when locating your beach spot from the water.
Once in a while those "dads" even picks up the camera and snaps pictures of his wife in the water.
We milked every moment available to sit on the beach, play on the beach and get in the water...
until we crashed on the car ride home. No joke, this picture was taken one hour into our return trip.
